James Michael “Mike” Troutman, age 67, of Dedham passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at his home in Dedham due to injuries suffered in an accident. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the Coon Rapids United Methodist Church with Rev. Joyce Webb officiating. Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids from 5 – 7 P.M. on Wednesday evening. The casket will be moved to the church at 9:00 A.M. on Thursday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Organist for the service will be Lula Garnes and Soloist will be Cindy Seastrom. Casket bearers will be Curt Eason, Kevin Golwitzer, Jarret Golwitzer, Mike Golwitzer, Chris Beyerink, and Dave Schroeder. Honorary casket bearers will be Gary Seastrom and Jed Kasperbauer. Born on July 27, 1948 in Carroll, he was the son of William Larry and Jennie Mae (Noland) Troutman. Mike, as he was known to most grew up on his family’s farm west of Coon Rapids. He attended Evergreen country school west of Coon Rapids as a boy and graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1967. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1969. Following his military service he came back to Coon Rapids and went to work as a heavy equipment operator. He then worked for his brother-in-law Bob Eason as a farm hand. In 1975, Mike moved to Greenland and worked as a heavy equipment operator. Mike moved back to Coon Rapids and lived on the home farm and worked as a truck driver. He was married to Beth Volquartsen on June 25, 1982 at the home of his brother in Coon Rapids. The couple lived in Carroll for a short time and moved to Dedham where they currently reside. Mike was most recently employed by Mid Continent Trucking of Denison and recently received his second million mile certificate. Mike enjoyed gardening, making improvements to his home, and general handy work. Most of all he cherished spending time with his family and grandchildren. His children and family loved the daily phone calls from Mike to “shoot the breeze” while he was on the road. Mike is survived by his wife Beth Troutman of Dedham; three daughters: Jennie Klatt and her husband Denny of Spencer; Laura Hott and her husband Todd of Mt. Vernon, IL, and a daughter Jamie Beyerink and her husband Chris of Carroll; two sons: Bill Troutman of Dedham and Tony Troutman and his wife Sarah of Carroll; twelve grandchildren; four great grandchildren; his mother-in-law Dorothy Lussman and her husband Wilbert of Carroll; three sisters: Peggy Eason and her husband Bob of Scranton, Mary Muench and her husband Merle of Hastings, MN, and Carol Golwitzer and her husband Gerald of Dedham; two brothers: Gary Troutman and his wife Audrey of Coon Rapids and David Troutman and his wife Roxanne of Yale; a brother-in-law Tom Volquartsen of rural Carroll; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Larry Troutman, a sister Janice Troutman Fryman and a niece Patricia Skalla.
