Bety Mccorkle

Bety McCorkle (Elizabeth Ann nee Anderson) passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City. A celebration of life reception will be held from 5 – 7 P.M. on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Carroll American Legion (1124 Heiress Avenue). In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made in Bety’s name to the Animal Rescue of Carroll and may be mailed to: Animal Rescue of Carroll, Box 393 Carroll, Iowa 51401. Born on November 8, 1958 in Drumheller, Alberta, Canada, she was the daughter of David and Marion (DeChenne) Anderson. She grew up in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Bety moved to Lake View in 1992 and worked for many years at the Carrollton Inn. She purchased Denny’s Restaurant in 2007 and operated it until 2014. Bety had five dogs while living in Carroll and they were the passion of her life. Bety is survived by a brother Les Anderson of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; three sisters: Janet Antonio and Barry Mazepa of Hanna, Alberta, Canada, Donna Anderson and Lanny Meyers of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and Cindy Margetts and “Skippy” of Carroll; several nieces and nephews; and many many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
