Richard "Dick" Andersen

Richard “Dick” Andersen, age 68, of Coon Rapids passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Thursday, February 12, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, February 16, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Coon Rapids with Pastor Joyce Webb officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. on Sunday at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids. The casket will be moved to the church at 8:30 A.M. on Monday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Organist for the service will be Lula Garnes and soloist will be Cindy Seastrom. Casket bearers will be Gary Troutman, Bill Carrick, Dan Dentlinger, Terry Dentlinger, Al Tigges, Dave Muhr, Darwin Halterman, and Paul Irlbeck. Burial will be in the Union Township Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Dedham American Legion. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on August 27, 1946 in Carroll, he was the son of Chris and Beulah (Mahan) Andersen. He grew up in Coon Rapids and graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1964. Following high school he was drafted into the United States Army in 1967 and served in Vietnam. After returning home he went to work for Oscar Mayer in Perry for 25 years. Richard married Elaine Clipperton on January 4, 1969 at the Christian Church in Bagley. Richard enjoyed hunting and fishing with his two sons. Richard also enjoyed gardening and most of all he loved being around his two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Richard was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Dedham American Legion. Richard is survived by his wife Elaine of Coon Rapids; two sons: Brad Andersen of Coon Rapids and Jeff Andersen and his fiancé Chasity Bauer and her children, Cain, Camryn, and Caitlyn all of Coon Rapids; two grandchildren: Chance and Chelsea Andersen; two great grandchildren: Hallee and Chesney Richards of Coon Rapids; his mother and father-in-law Dean and Diane Clipperton of Bayard; three sisters: Marilyn Taylor and her husband Larry of Coon Rapids, Karen Colbert and her husband Jerry of Coon Rapids, and Loretta Rumbelhart and her husband Roger of Coon Rapids; one sister-in-law Audrey Troutman of Coon Rapids; three brothers-in-law Larry Clipperton and his wife Dathel of Oklahoma, Randy Clipperton and his wife Sandy of Bayard and Gary Clipperton of Bayard; four sisters-in-law: Karen Esslinger and her husband Don of Bayard, Debbie Gustoff and her husband Ronnie of Bayard, Patricia Clipperton of Bayard, Cindi Monthei and her husband Randy of Jefferson, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Richard was preceded in death by his parents Chris and Beulah (Mahan) Andersen; two brothers: Bill Andersen and Jerry Andersen; and one sister-in-law Jeri Fitzsimmons.
