Earl Louis Santee, son of John C. Santee and Loretta Leeper Santee Sloan, was born October 7, 1937, in Omaha, Nebraska. He attended Tech High in Omaha. From 1954-1957, he served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in France, Germany and Spain.       On October 11, 1958, Earl was united in marriage with his lovely wife Sandra Mae Sanders at Sacred Heart Church in Omaha. Six children were born to this union. Earl and Sandra lived in Omaha until 1965 when they moved to Portland, Oregon. In 1999, he and Sandra made their home in Manning, Iowa.    Earl worked at the Humane Society in Omaha for many years and then worked for and retired from Triangle Mills in Portland. After retiring, he enjoyed training and racing horses. Several of the horses he raced took the victory circle at Portland Meadows. Earl enjoyed his farm at Manning; especially mowing the grass and caring for the animals. He enjoyed the outdoors. He loved his farm and family more than anything; also his dogs, Missy and Jack. He also enjoyed his vacations to Las Vegas and Reno and visiting his family in Portland, Oregon.    On Wednesday, December 29, 2010, Earl died at Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Audubon, Iowa. He was 73 years of age.    Earl is survived by: his wife Sandra Mae Santee of Manning; mother Loretta Sloan of the Manning Plaza; two sons: Richard Joe Santee of Omaha, Nebraska and James Dean Santee and wife Susie of Portland, Oregon; four daughters: Anna Marie Windham and husband Ray of Milwaukie, Oregon; Jackie Dee Chen and husband Zian of Manning; Diana Lee Padgett of Vancouver, Washington and Rhonda Kay Santee and Ken Evans of Manning; 14 grandchildren: Anthony, Carrie, Michael & Michelle, Eric, LaRee, Juston, Sandy, Aaron, Felecia, Joshua, Christopher Earl, Devon and Sarae; six great-grandchildren (expecting two on the way); other relatives and many friends.    He was preceded in death by his father John Santee Sr. and brothers Mike Santee Sr. and Gary Santee Sr.    No services are being planned at this time. The Johnson & Woodhouse Funeral Home in Manning is in charge of arrangements. Cards and letters may be sent to the family.
