William "Bill" Kristen Bluml

William “Bill” Kristen Bluml, age 61, of Huxley, IA, and formerly of Glidden, IA, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Unity Point – Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines surrounded by his family.

Funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden with Chaplain Angelo Luis officiating.  Casket bearers will be A.J. Wenck, Tyson Wenck, Jamie Petersen, Lynn Stork, Rick Burdine, and Jeff Heuton.  Burial will be in the Merle Hay Cemetery in Glidden.

Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden from 5 – 7 P.M. on Friday.  Additional visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:00 – 9:45 A.M. on Saturday prior to the service.

Bill was born May 25, 1960 in Carroll, IA, and he was the son of Norman “Jack” and Lois (Earhart) Bluml.  He grew up on his family’s farm near Glidden and graduated from Glidden High School in 1978.  He attended Iowa State University and then worked for West Central Cooperative in Ralston until 2012 when he began working for Poet Ethanol.  Bill also owned and operated Bluml Ag, a private consulting business.  He loved talking and teaching customers about grain.  It gave him so much pleasure and he met many wonderful people.  Bill loved grilling, making sure everyone was fed and happy.  He enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Bill is survived by his daughter Megan Bluml of Algona; his other half Ellisa Wenck of Huxley and her children Taylor Kidd (Chris) and their children Emmett and Barrett, Tyson Wenck, and A.J. Wenck (Elizabeth) and their children Ian and Bennett; his brother Andy Bluml of Michigan; one niece and one nephew.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents Norman “Jack” and Lois Bluml and his son Quinn in 2020.
