Wayne Eldon Fielding, age 80, of Adel and formerly of Scranton died at the Adel Acres nursing home on September 7, 2020.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday September 12, 2020 at the Scranton Township Cemetery near Scranton, IA, with Chaplain Angelo Luis officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com.

Wayne was born at the Fielding farm west of Scranton, the son of Leslie and Roberta (Oakes) Fielding, on March 8, 1940. He attended Scranton No. 3, a one room country school taught by Opal Calder. He later attended Scranton High School and was a member of the United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed working on the farm, gardening, fishing, watching football and listening to Polka music. He liked to read and collect articles of interest. Later in his life he enjoyed playing bingo and working puzzles. He lived 30 years at the Dallas County Home before moving to Adel Acres. He enjoyed life with a sense of humor and a robust laugh.
Survivors include his sisters, Wilma Brafford of Phoenix, Arizona and Susan (David) Wilson of Knoxville, Tennessee; a brother, Dr. Ivor Rene (Anna) Fielding of Mountain View, California; a brother-in-law, Ronald Storm of Earlham, Iowa; and nieces and nephews, Terry (Ellen) Brafford, Teresa Brafford-Fielding, Kevin (Laurie) Storm, Gary (Sheri) Storm, April (John) Dietel, Rhonda (Kris) Axhoj, Dr. Jonathan (Melissa) Storm. Maria (Scott) Yenerich, Drs. Krista (Mohan) Fielding, Jeffrey (Melissa) Wilson and Julie (Mike) Goldston.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Roberta Fielding; a brother, Robert Fielding; a brother-in-law, Ralph Brafford; and a sister, Izola Storm.
