Viola M. Petersen, age 89, of Templeton passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Hawkeye Care Center in Carroll. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll with Rev. Brian Licht officiating. Organist for the service will be Jan Hoff. Casket bearers will be Steven Froisland, John Froisland, Edward Froisland, Curt Froisland, Clay Froisland, and Clint Froisland. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday where there will be a prayer service held at 6:30 P.M. The casket will be moved to St. Paul Lutheran Church where visitation will resume at 9:30 A.M. on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Cameron Township Cemetery near Gray. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com. Born on October 24, 1927 in Moorland, IA, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Joseph Froisland. Viola attended country school in Fulton Township as a girl. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Dodge for 24 years before she met her husband Leo. Viola was united in marriage to Leo Petersen on September 2, 1967 at Fulton Lutheran Church in Roelyn, IA. Leo and Viola farmed all their married life southwest of Dedham. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll. Viola is survived by her husband Leo of Templeton; a brother-in-law Edward Petersen of Carroll and several nieces and nephews. Viola was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Joe, Clifford, Henry, and Floyd, and a sister Mable.
