Victoria M. Macdonald

Victoria Maude MacDonald, age 70, of Jefferson and formerly of Scranton passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Regency Park Nursing Home in Jefferson. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the Scranton United Methodist Church with Rev. Joyce Webb officiating. Organist for the service will be Lula Garnes. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service. Casket bearers will be Shawn MacDonald, Nathan MacDonald, Todd Arnold, Greg Schroeder, Tyler Schroeder, and Justin Schroeder. Burial will be in the Scranton Township Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton and online condolences may be left for Victoria’s family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on August 3, 1946 in Jefferson, Iowa, Vicki, as she was known to most, was the daughter of Burnell “B.A.” and Shirley (Seward) MacDonald. She grew up in Scranton and graduated from Scranton Consolidated Schools in 1964. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University in Wayne, NE in 1967 and then she earned her Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Iowa in 1968. Vicki worked in Des Moines as a social worker for several years. She was a member of the Scranton United Methodist Church. Vicki enjoyed playing Bingo and games, animals, going for rides in her Oldsmobile Cutlass 442, and spending time with her family. She had a strong faith, and she loved Elvis Presley music and the many family vacations the MacDonalds took over the years. Vicki is survived by her daughter Dendra Lee of Norwalk; four grandchildren: Chase, Sonny, Jaron, and Summer; two brothers: Stacy MacDonald (Janis) and Craig MacDonald (Susanne) all of Scranton; a niece Kristi Schroeder (Greg) of Arcadia, IA; two nephews: Shawn MacDonald (Cheryl) of Valley, NE and Todd Arnold (Lynette) of Omaha, NE; and several great-nieces and nephews, and cousins. Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, her identical twin sister Val MacDonald.
