Vicky Ann Nolte, age 61, of Carroll passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Rev. Dennis Bailey of the First United Methodist Church in Carroll officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 P.M. on Monday at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll. Burial will be in the Lake Creek Cemetery near Rockwell City, Iowa. Casket bearers will be Cory Hayes, Steve Weitl, Curt Batta, Todd Batta, Jason Batta, and Tracy Warnke. Honorary casket bearers will be David Hayes, Rob Hayes, Blain Nolte, and Randy Watts. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Vicky’s name and memorials may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the funeral home at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home 705 N. Carroll St. Carroll, Iowa 51401
Born on February 17, 1954 in Lake City, IA, she was the daughter of Frank and Delores (Harms) Batta. She grew up in Carroll and Lidderdale and attended Carroll High School. She was married to David Hayes on June 12, 1971 at the Methodist Church in Lake City. They lived in Irwin where David was the chief of police. They lived in several places in west central Iowa before moving to Adair in 1983. Vicky and David moved back to Carroll in 1997. David passed away on April 13, 1998. Vicky worked at the Carrollton Inn for several years. She was married to Keith Nolte on March 1, 2003 in Carroll. Vicky and Keith lived in Carroll for a year before moving to their acreage in 2004. They both have commuted and worked for Camblin Mechanical in Atlantic for many years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing, camping, and hosting family gatherings. Vicky was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She cherished every moment spent with her family.
Vicky is survived by her husband Keith Nolte of Carroll; a son Cory Hayes and his special friend Katie Mochel of Kansas City, MO; ten grandchildren; three step-daughters: Wendy Nolte of Anita, IA, Missy Suefert and her husband Jeremy of Atlantic, IA, and Nichole Nolte and her husband Chet of Omaha, NE; a step-son Blain Nolte and his special friend Carrie Sopcich of Council Bluffs, IA; a sister Anita Sisson and her husband Rick of Tama, IA; a brother Rick Batta and his wife Wanda of Lanesboro; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Vicky was preceded in death by her parents, her husband David Hayes in 1998, her daughter Kristie Hayes in 2013, and her brother George Batta in 2011.
