Tyler Jene Quandt, age 22, of Schleswig, Iowa, and formerly of Carroll passed away unexpectedly at his home in Schleswig on Monday, November 1, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll with Pastors David Anthony and Brian Licht officiating. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 5:00 P.M. on Friday where there will be a prayer service held at 7:00 P.M.. The casket will be moved to the church at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday to lie in state until the time of service. Organist for the service will be Janet Hoff and soloist will be Marv Toft. Burial will be in the Westside Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Nick Christianson, John Ayers, Jessie Schwanz, Ross Rupiper, Luke Kennebeck, Francis Kennebeck, Lance Vogl, Andy Henson, and Shane Kraus. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on January 10, 1988 at Newman Memorial Hospital in Emporia, Kansas, he was the son of Barbara (Rose) and the late Jene Quandt. Tyler was baptized at Faith Lutheran Church in Emporia, Kansas, and he was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll. He grew up in Carroll and graduated from Carroll High School in 2006. After high school, he attended Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. After college, he resided in Ames and worked for Burgess Construction. He then moved to Schleswig to work for Brian Rank Farms. Tyler was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, riding ATV’s, farming, all types of animals, and hanging out with his many good friends. Surviving are his mother Barbara Quandt of Carroll; his special friend Beth Grossman of Glidden; his maternal grandparents: Richard and Janet Rose of Westside, Iowa; his paternal grandparents Jim and Donna Quandt of Westside, Iowa; his great grandmother Helen Andersen of Denison, Iowa; the following aunts and uncles: Pam Wilfing and her husband Frank of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Lori Eischeid and her husband Rahn of rural Carroll; and Jary Quandt and his wife Deb of Westside; and the following cousins: Jack Wilfing, Rose and Grace Eischeid, Jenica, Nicole, and Kalley Quandt. He was preceded in death by his father in 2008.
