Trisha Ann Eighmy, age 16, of Glidden passed away on Monday, January 19, 2009 at her home in Glidden.
Born on November 19, 1992 at Lake City, Iowa, she was the daughter of Rod and Cheryl (Wilson) Eighmy. Trisha was a sophomore at Glidden-Ralston High School where she was active in FFA, band, basketball, track, volleyball, soccer, softball, Spanish club, and the reading club. In junior high she was on the soccer team and played flag football. Trisha loved the outdoors, her animals, poetry, and reading. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Glidden where she was active in the choir.
Surviving are her parents Rod and Cheryl Eighmy of Glidden; a sister Beth, Des Moines; a sister Jessica at home; a brother John at home; her maternal grandparents Jerry and Neva Wilson of Glidden; her paternal grandfather John Eighmy of Conway, Iowa; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Donna Eighmy, her great grandparents Selma and Valley Smith, and a cousin Scott Brauckman.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, January 26, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Glidden with Rev. Chad Jennings officiating. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Sunday. The casket will be moved to the church at 8:30 A.M. on Monday to lie in state until the time of service. Organist for the service will be Mary Ross and soloist will be Carolyn Miller. Casket bearers will be FFA Members: Darrin Gordon, Brant Walsh, Blake Alexander, Nate Christian, David Brown, and Michael Richardson. Honorary casket bearers will be the Glidden-Ralston Girls Basketball Team: Natalie Bullock (Coach) Janel Sporrer (Assistant Coach) Players: Kristin Klocksiem, Morgan O’Brien, Melinda Brosh, Katelynn Kozak, Hallie Schon, Nikki Danzer, Bre Lewis, Rhen Bock, Kristen Goettsch, Krystin Winker, and Katie Riesselman. Burial will be in the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden.
