Tom J. Brincks, age 59, of Glidden passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Creighton Medical Center in Omaha.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll with Fr. Timothy Johnson as Celebrant. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden after 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday where there will be a Christian Wake Service at 6:30 P.M. The casket will be moved to Holy Spirit Church at 9:00 A.M. on Thursday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Lector for the Mass will be Mike Loehr. Gift bearers will be his children: Amanda and Corey. Casket bearers will be Denny Blessington, Javier Cortez, Kevin Frederick, Bob Van Scoy, Greg Hucka, Tom Quandt, Ken Jensen, and Scott Pick. Honorary casket bearers will be Doug and Judy Wilson. Burial will be in the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden. Born on October 12, 1955 in Carroll, he was the son of Norbert and Delores (Uhlenkamp) Brincks. He grew up in Carroll and graduated from Carroll High School in 1973. Following high school he worked several jobs before working at Safeway Grocery Store for ten years. He then worked for Case Implement for five years and then Quandt Auto Salvage for 26 years. Tom also worked for Chuck’s Body and Paint and Ralph’s DX Towing as part time jobs. He was married to Brenda DeMey on August 20, 1977 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll. The couple lived in Carroll for 26 years before moving to Glidden in 2003. Tom and his family started Glidden Car Corner in 2005 which is still in operation. Tom loved to spend time with his grandchildren who affectionately call him Papa. He enjoyed collecting classic muscle cars and going to stock car races, and swap meets. Tom was a hard worker and spent every free moment he could with his family.
Tom is survived by his wife Brenda of Glidden; a daughter Amanda Rezac and her husband Jim of Glidden; a son Corey Brincks and his wife Cassidy of Glidden; three granddaughters: Kaitlyn Brincks, Emma Rezac, and Kaylee Brincks; his mother-in-law Norma Jean DeMey of Carroll; two brothers-in-law: Steve DeMey of Omaha and Mark DeMey and his wife Jane of Carroll; and two sisters-in-law: Karen Loehr and her husband Mike of Carroll and Carmen DeMey of Carroll.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents Norbert and Delores Brincks, his grandparents Ted and Teriesa Brincks, and his father-in-law Ed DeMey.
