Thomas Charles Rogers, age 87, of Carroll, Iowa, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023, at Accura Healthcare of Carroll.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at the First United Methodist Church in Carroll with Rev. Terry Plocher officiating. Music will be by Ellen Severin. Honorary casket bearers will be Justin Kelly, Larry Lieb, Tom Louis, Frank Greteman, Paul Greteman, Bob Haukap, Don Kitt, Kim Tiefenthaler, and Denis Schirck. Burial will be at a later date at the Carroll City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll from 5-7 P.M. on Friday evening followed by a Masonic service held at 7:00 P.M. The casket will be moved to the First United Methodist Church at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday where visitation will resume until 10:15 A.M. prior to the service.

Thomas was born on February 21, 1935, in Jefferson, Iowa, the son of Arthur and Gladys “Dolly” (Magill) Rogers. He attended Carroll High School, graduating with the class of 1954. He got his first job in the business office at Ocoma Foods in Carroll. He then became a bookkeeper at Hills Motor, a local car dealership. On June 17, 1963, he began his career in banking at Commercial Savings Bank where he had many responsibilities over the years. On August 28, 1966, he was united in marriage to Lynn Sharon Farrell at the First United Methodist Church in Carroll. The couple was blessed with one son, Philip.
Thomas was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carroll. He was also very active in the local Signet Masonic Lodge #264. Thomas loved bowling and was in several leagues throughout the years. He enjoyed golfing in his spare time and was an avid coin collector.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Lynn Sharon Rogers of Carroll, Iowa; son, Philip Rogers of Des Moines, Iowa; grandson, Justin and wife Erin Kelly of Des Moines; granddaughter, Ember Rogers of Des Moines; sister, Sally Clanton near Paris, Texas; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Gladys “Dolly” Rogers. Brothers: Richard Rogers, his wife Jean, Robert Rogers, his son Jeff, and his brother-in-law, John Clanton.
