Thomas David Grau Sr., age 79, of Manning passed away on Monday, December 8, 2014 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
Private funeral services will be held.
Born on August 15, 1935 in Carroll, he was the son of Emil and Magda (Holmes) Grau. He grew up on his family’s farm north of Manning and graduated from Manning High School in 1955. Tom’s father passed away when he was 12 years old and following high school he ran the farming operation for his mother. He was married to Ann Booth Littell on November 13, 1954 in Sioux City. The couple continued farming and raised their family on their farm south of Manning. Tom loved farming and his family.
Tom is survived by his wife Ann of Manning; two daughters: Barbara Page (Steve) of Manning and Nancy Anheier (Marc) of Jacksonville, FL; four sons: Dean Grau of Manning, Tom Grau Jr. (Samia) of Irving, TX, Bob Grau (Andrea) of Corning, and Steve Grau (Sheri) of Bondurant; 18 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; two sisters, one brother, a brother-in-law and nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and a son Lester in 1986.
