Thomas Lowell Daniel

Thomas Lowell Daniel, age 72, of Carroll, IA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Accura Healthcare in Carroll.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church – St. John Paul II Parish in Carroll with Fr. Patrick Behm as celebrant.  Music for the Mass will be by Kathy Halbur with Kathleen Macke as Cantor.  Lectors for the Mass will be Chalsey Daniel, Pam Mohr, and Annie Rudolph.  Gift bearers will be Eric Daniel, Chalsey Daniel, and Landon Daniel.  Casket bearers will be David Daniel, Michael Daniel, Patrick Daniel, Paul Daniel, Mark Daniel, and Victor Warnke.  Burial will be in the Holy Family Cemetery near Lidderdale.

Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll on Wednesday from 5 – 7 P.M. where there will be a Christian Wake Service held at 7 P.M. The casket will be moved to Holy Spirit Church at 9:30 A.M. on Thursday where visitation will resume until 10:15 prior to the Mass.

Tom was born on February 5, 1950 in Carroll, IA, and he was the son of Lowell and Florence (Miller) Daniel.  He grew up in Lidderdale and graduated from Kuemper High School in 1968.  Tom attended architectural school in Chicago following high school.  He was married to Jean Fasbender on May 31, 1969 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Breda. The couple made their home in Carroll where they raised their five children: Dana, Chad, Eric, Nick and Alex.  Tom owned and operated several business in Carroll over the years including: Tom’s 66 Service Station, The Loft Lounge, Liquor To Go, City Rooms and Apartments, and part owner of Carroll Cab Service.  Tom also worked as a foreman for Warnke Construction for many years.  Tom and Jean divorced in 1994.  Tom enjoyed fishing, fixing most anything and working hard.

Tom is survived by his children and their families: a daughter Dana Northway, four sons Chad Daniel, Eric Daniel (Chalsey), Nick Daniel (Leah), and Alex Daniel of Carroll; his siblings: David (Deanna), Michael (Deb), Laura Danner, Jayne (Kevin) Klocke, Patrick, Pamela (Steve) Mohr, Paul and Mark; fifteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents Lowell and Florence Daniel.
