Theresa (Teri) Marie Amsden, age 58, of Manning, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 after a courageous battle with liver cancer at St. Anthony's Hospital in Carroll, Iowa.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 11th at Bethany Lutheran Church in Elkhorn, Nebraska with Pastor Judith Rainforth officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com
Born on March 31, 1961 in San Diego, CA, she was the daughter of Jimmie Amsden, Sr. and Claire (Schmelzle) Amsden. Teri grew up near the Manning, Iowa area and lived in Omaha where she worked and raised her children for many years. She moved back to Manning in 2011 because of health reasons and to be near her hometown. Teri enjoyed gardening and planting flowers, was a lover of nature and all animals, liked visiting with her friends and having coffee with the neighbors, and listening to 70s rock music.
Teri is survived by her children: daughter Amy Henkel (Evan) of Omaha, and daughter Sonya Olson (Krystal) of Omaha; grandchildren: Ethen, Elliot, Ray, and Jaxon; significant other William (Bill) Saunders of Manning; sister Virginia Kahl (Steven) of Bellevue, Nebraska; brother David Amsden of Berlin, Wisconsin; and nephew Noah Kahl of Bellevue.
Teri was preceded in death by her parents Jimmie and Claire Amsden, and her grandparents.
