Sue Prior

Susan Lee “Sue” Prior, age 76, of Carroll, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017 at Accura Health in Carroll. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in Carroll with Rev. Dennis Bailey officiating. Organist will be Ellen Severin. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 A.M. on Saturday until the time of service. Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Sue’s name for a later designation and may be left at the church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on November 14, 1940 in Rockwell City, Sue was the daughter of Lester and Elizabeth (Moore) Fouts. She graduated from the Rockwell City High School in 1959 and attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa. Sue was married to Don Prior on June 12, 1960 in Rockwell City. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star #1 in Carroll. Sue loved spending time with her family and visiting with friends. She was an avid bridge player and at one time taught intermediate level bridge at DMACC in Carroll. Sue is survived by her husband, Don of Carroll; daughter Becky Daniels (Jack) of Spirit Lake; two sons: Steven Prior of Glenwood and Bill Prior (Marilyn) of Overland Park, Kansas; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother Lanny Fouts and his fiancé Judi Brown of Rockwell City; an aunt, Darlene Zinnel of Pomeroy; and several nieces and nephews Sue was preceded in death by her parents; and her mother and father-in-law, Bill and Peg Prior.
