Steve was affectionately known to most as Hank.  He was born on May 1, 1962 in Carroll, IA.  He was the son of Virgil and Louise (Beyerink) Behrens.  He grew up in Carroll and graduated from Kuemper High School in 1980.  He enlisted in the United States Army and served two years.  He was married to Rhonda Kay Mohr on July 7, 1990.  He became father to Ashley and together they had a son Joel.  Steve had several truck driving jobs over the years working with the Behrens family and most recently with Koster Grain.  He also worked for Snyder Tree Service.  In his spare time, he enjoyed farming, where he helped Bob at Venner Farms in Carroll. He loved to play bags, play cards with the girls at the Angry Beaver, cribbage, sponsoring cars in the figure 8 races, going on fishing trips, and asparagus hunting.  He was an avid John Wayne fan and was his childhood hero where he enjoyed watching his movies and collecting memorabilia. Steve also took great pride in his John Deere Antique B tractor. He was a member of American Legion Riders Post 607 of Breda.  Hank loved his grandchildren Jameson Henry and Johnathan Paul.

Steve is survived by his son Joel Behrens (Jessica) of Breda; his grandchildren Jameson and Johnathan; his siblings: brother Dennis Behrens of Carroll, sister Sharon Behrens of Carroll, and brother Mark Behrens (Laurie) of Carroll; his step-mother Virgene Behrens of Carroll and her family; a brother-in-law John Rossiter of Willey; a sister-in-law Paula Behrens of Coon Rapids; and many extended family members and good friends.
