Steve Douglas Kendrick, age 63, of Carroll passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in Carroll with Rev. Dennis Bailey officiating. Casket bearers will be Dave Hopper, Dave Runge, Steve Olberding, Dick German, Alvie Irlbeck and Joe Lenaghan. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. on Friday evening. The casket will be moved to First United Methodist Church at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com A memorial fund has been established in Steve’s name for “Beau’s Beautiful Blessings”, a playground for children with disabilities in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be left at the funeral home, the church, or mailed to: The Family of Steve Kendrick - Box 283 Carroll, Iowa 51401. Born on October 12, 1953 in Kalamazoo, MI, he was the son of Donald and E.J. (Kline) Kendrick. Steve grew up in Delaware, OH, where he graduated from high school in 1971. Following high school, Steve attended the Ohio State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. He was married to Pamela Sue Owen in May of 1984 in Carroll. The couple later divorced and Steve continued to live in Carroll and was actively involved in his children’s lives: Joe, Ryan, Doug, and Kelli. Steve was a sales manager for Kent Feeds for 40 years based out of the Muscatine office. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Carroll. Steve enjoyed fishing, golfing, and riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed his Corvette, the Corvette Club and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Steve is survived by children: Joe Owen (Kortney) of Cedar Falls, Ryan Owen (Angie) of Cedar Falls, Doug Kendrick (Katie) of Coralville, and Kelli Kendrick of Carroll; his mother E.J. Kendrick of Olin, NC; six grandchildren: Adrie, Kyla, Jude, Ellory, Cruze, and Lauren; a sister Linda Vargesko (Tim); other extended family, and many good friends. Steve was preceded in death by his father Donald Kendrick.
