Shirley Ann Fox, age 81, of Coon Rapids passed away on Monday, September 5, 2016 at Thomas Rest Haven in Coon Rapids. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Coon Rapids with Rev. Joyce Webb officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service. Music for the service will be by Lula Garnes and Cindy Seastrom. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn & Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids and online condolences may be left for Shirley’s family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on June 29, 1935 Moline, Illinois, she was the daughter of Lyle and Lena (Mason) Hulett. She grew up in the Quad Cities in western Illinois and graduated from Moline High School in 1953. Following high school Shirley moved to California and worked for Walter Lanz in animation and painted many of the cells for the Woody The Woodpecker cartoons. She moved back to Moline and worked at the Plantation Night Club. She was married to Jose Posada in 195 5 and he passed away in 1980. She was later married to Delbert “Bud” Fox and he passed away in 1988. Shirley moved to Coon Rapids in 1998 where she volunteered as a foster grandparent and was affectionately known by many of the local children as “Grandma Shirley”. She was a member of the Disciples of Christ Church in Coon Rapids for many years and later became a member of the Coon Rapids United Methodist Church. Shirley enjoyed artwork, fellowship with members of her church, and life in general. She especially loved children. Shirley is survived by two sons: Joseph Posada and his wife Michelle of Coon Rapids and Thomas Posada of New Orleans, LA; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sisters: LydaVersluis of Moberly, MO, and Marilyn Voights of Milan, IL; and several nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, a brother Elmer, and a son John Posada.
