Shirley Jean Adams

Shirley Jean Adams, age 82, of Carroll passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.

At Shirley’s request, no services will be held.  The Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home of Carroll assisted the family with arrangements.

Shirley was born on January 7, 1938 in Michigan Valley, KS, and was the daughter of Jay and Louise (Campbell) Ramshaw.  She grew up in Michigan Valley where she graduated from high school.  She worked for Security Benefit Insurance Company and then she worked as a cook.  Shirley was married to Donald Adams on April 9, 1960 at Vinita, OK.  The couple made their home in Onawa, IA.  Shirley was a member of the Church of Christ.  Shirley enjoyed crocheting, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Shirley is survived by her husband Donald of Carroll; two sons: Mark Adams (Debra) of Glidden, and David Adams (Kari) of Maui, HI; five grandchildren: Justin Adams, Megan Murphy (Eric), Samantha Adams, Maile Adams, and Elie Adams; two brothers: Bill Ramshaw (Dorothy) of Toronto, KS, and Bob Ramshaw of Ottawa, KS; a sister-in-law Thelma Walburn; and several nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Jay and Louise Ramshaw; her in-laws Frank and Ruby Adams.
