Sherry Lee Pierce

Sherry Lee Pierce, age 83, of Glidden, IA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Thomas Rest Haven in Coon Rapids surrounded by her family.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, January 17, 2022 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden with Rev. Bruce Hauswirth officiating.  Casket bearers will be Jesse Janssen, Brandon Prichard, Brent Prichard, Chad Prichard, Cody Pierce, and Coby Pierce.  Burial will be in the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden.

Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden from 5 – 7 P.M. on Sunday.  Additional visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 9:30 A.M. – 10:15 A.M.

Sherry was born on November 2, 1938 in Carroll, IA, and she was the daughter of Willard and Fern (Marks) Sprimont.  She grew up in Glidden where she graduated from high school.  She attended beauty school in Des Moines and returned to Glidden.  Sherry was married to Glenn Pierce in 1958.  She worked several jobs over the years and was a busy mother raising her four children. The couple lived in Sac City all their married life.  She has made her home at the Thomas Rest Haven in Coon Rapids for the past two years where she received excellent care.  Sherry enjoyed fishing, cooking, sewing, going to the casino, traveling, her dogs Skipper and Pudgy, and spending time with her family.

Sherry is survived by her four children and their families: daughter Pam Irlbeck (Robert) of Templeton, son Steven Pierce (Judith Springer) of Kansas City, MO, daughter Jackie Prichard (Paul) of Arcadia; and son Shannon Pierce of Sac City; twelve grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a brother Duane Sprimont (Donna) of Texas; a brother-in-law Larry Pierce of Des Moines; and other extended family members and many good friends.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents Willard and Fern Sprimont; her father and mother-in-law William and Alma Pierce; ten siblings; a granddaughter Tahira Dawn; and her husband Glenn in 1992.
