Sharon Denise Byerly

Sharon Denise Byerly, age 67, of Scranton passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson.

A visitation and time to share memories will be held from 5 – 7 P.M. on Friday, March 22, 2019 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton.  Burial will be in the Scranton Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com

Born on June 24, 1951 in Charleston, IL, she was the daughter of Larry and Jackie (Moody) Swinford.  Sharon grew up in LaHabra, California where she attended Sonora High School.  She worked for Pacific Bell Telephone Company following high school.  She was married to Ron Byerly on November 21, 1970.  The couple made their home in Orange, California where Sharon worked for Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company and then Orange Telephone Company.  They moved to Ontario, CA, in 1984 where Sharon worked for Upland Answering Service.  Sharon and Ron moved to Scranton in 1995, and Sharon worked at Walmart in Carroll.  She enjoyed shopping, going to concerts, vacationing to visit family, visiting with her friends and Sharon cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren.

Sharon is survived by her husband Ron of Scranton; her daughter Dawn Uhlenkamp (Ron) of Carroll; her mother Jackie Swinford of San Bernardino, CA; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister Gayle Grandville of Riverside, CA; a sister-in-law Connie Pinkerton of McRae, AR; two brothers-in-law: James Byerly (Norma) of Cottonwood, CA and Dee Jay Byerly (Loretta) of LaBelle, FL; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father Larry Swinford; a brother Little Larry at age 12; her son Chad Byerly in infancy.
