Scott J. Blevins, age 46, of Lake View, Iowa, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2009 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. Born on June 14, 1962, at Carroll, Iowa he was the son and John and Marlene (Schrad) Blevins. He grew up in Carroll and graduated from Kuemper Catholic High School in 1981. He served 3 years in the National Guard. Scott was a truck driver and for the past year and a half he was employed by Con-Agra. Scott has lived in Lake View for the past two years. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Lake View. Surviving are his mother Marlene Blevins of Lake View, Iowa; his father John Blevins of Atlantic, Iowa; a daughter Melissa Blevins of Ames, Iowa; a daughter Angie Horsley and her husband Jace of Odebolt, Iowa; a granddaughter MacKenzie Horsley; a brother Brian Blevins and his wife Holly of Olathe, Kansas; a brother Todd Blevins and his wife Dixie of Council Bluffs, Iowa; a brother Michael Blevins and his wife Denise of Atlantic, Iowa; his grandmother Helen Blevins of San Antonio, Texas; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents and a sister Michelle Kirk. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 16, 2009 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Lake View with Pastor Roger Carlisle officiating. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 5:00 P.M. on Thursday where there will be a prayer service held at 6:00 P.M. The casket will be moved to the church at 9:00 A.M. on Friday to lie in state until the time of service. Casket bearers will be Brian Blevins, Todd Blevins, Mike Blevins, and Larry Blevins.
