Sandra Bennett

Sandra (White) Bennett, age 75, of Glidden, IA, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018 at her home in Glidden.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, October 26, 2018 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden with Pastor Bob McKnight officiating.  Casket bearers will be Rex Parker, Brian Parker, Kevin Gray, John White, Kaleb Young, and Kevin Young.  Burial will be in the Dillavou Cemetery near Ralston.

Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden from 5 – 7 P.M. on Thursday evening.  Visitation will resume at the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. on Friday until the time of service.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com

Born on July 30, 1943 in Carroll, IA, she was the daughter of Russell and Merriam (Sprimont) White.  Sandra grew up on a farm north of Ralston and attended Glidden High School.  Following high school she moved to Des Moines and worked as a waitress.  She was married to Tom Fennell on January 1, 1968.  The couple moved to Phoenix, AZ where she worked in a manufacturing plant as a fork lift driver.  Tom and Sandra were divorced and she moved back to Glidden where she later married Jerry Bennett on June 8, 1996 at the Friends Church near Ralston.  Jerry and Sandra lived in Glidden and she worked at Wal-Mart for twenty years.  Sandra enjoyed reading books, her kitties, and working in the garden,

Sandra is survived by her husband Jerry Bennett of Glidden; her daughter Kristy Young (Steve) of Kansas City, MO; two grandsons: Kaleb and Kevin Young; sister Joyce Bonacci (Fred) of Phoenix, AZ, brother John White (Mary) of Carroll; a sister-in-law Nancy Bonnicson of Gray, IA; and brother-in-law Steven Bennett of Des Moines; several nieces and nephews.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents Russell and Merriam White; and two sisters: Janice Siepker and Betty Parker.
