Sammy Leslie Baugh, age 61, of Las Vegas, NV. and formerly of Carroll, Ia. passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2013 in Eddysville, Ia. due to injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Rev. Brian Camara officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service on Sunday. Burial will be in the Merle Hay Cemetery near Glidden. A memorial fund has been established in Sammy’s name and memorials may be left at the funeral home. Born on June 17, 1952 in Carroll, Ia. he was the son of Boyd and Effie (Sigler) Baugh. He grew up in Carroll and attended Carroll High School. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army. He was married to Anne Geisler in 1974 and the couple made their home in Carroll and Grand Junction. They later divorced. Sammy drove a semi off and on for 30 years and he did auto body work for several years. Sammy was also very proud to have worked for Carroll Shelby Enterprise in Las Vegas for six years. Sammy is survived by a son Bart Baugh of Churdan, Ia.; a daughter Brandi McIntosh and her husband Ryan of Urbandale, Ia.; a brother Andy Baugh of Des Moines, Ia.; a sister Marty Baugh and her fiancé J.J. Hare of Las Vegas, Nevada; five grandchildren: Trevor, Torey, Taryn, Eastyn, and a new grandchild soon to arrive; his nieces and nephews: Johnny, Shawn, Mandy, T.J., Joby, Hally, Holly, Colby, Brooke, Johnny, and Jaydon; and 17 great nieces and nephews. Sammy was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Dianna Ranson.
