Sally Anita Arkland

Sally Anita Arkland, 70, of Lidderdale, Iowa died on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at her home after a battle with cancer. The family of Sally Anita Arkland appreciates your kindness through your thought, word, and deed and invites you to join them for a Celebration of Life Reception at Holy Family Hall in Lidderdale on Saturday, January 2, from 11am-2pm. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll. Sally Anita Arkland, daughter of Karl and Dorothy (Greenwell) Kaskey, was born February 17, 1939, in Des Moines, Iowa. She grew up in Lohrville, Iowa and attended Lohrville Consolidated School. On April 9, 1955, Sally Anita was united in marriage with Jack Arkland, Sr. in Rockwell City, Iowa. They had five children and eventually made their home in Lidderdale, Iowa. Sally Anita Arkland spent the majority of her life caring for her children and grandchildren. She spent a short time working at G.E. in Carroll, Iowa. She also enjoyed volunteering at Head Start, Community Opportunities, and Share Iowa in Carroll, Iowa. She truly loved helping others. She also had several beloved pets over her many years. In her last years, she enjoyed being a great-grandmother and spending time with her great-granddaughters. Survivors include her husband, Jack Arkland, Sr. of Lidderdale. Four children and their spouses, Jack Jr. and Diane Arkland of Lake City, Joey and Jim Everett of Lake City, Jerry and Jen Arkland of Carroll, and Jeff and Valerie Arkland of Pueblo, Colorado. Eleven Grandchildren and their spouses, Karman and Brian Brinkman of Fairmont, Minnesota, Kasey and Chad Irlbeck of Carroll, Kendal Drees of Carroll, Kari and Ben Klootwyk of Tucson, Arizona, Courtney Everett of Carroll, Justin Arkland of Lake City, Jason Arkland of Lake City, Jennifer Arkland of Carroll, Javid Arkland of Carroll, Amber Arkland of Carroll, and Alicia Arkland of Pueblo, Colorado. Four great-grandchildren: Austin Arkland, Kally Brinkman, Karly Brinkman, and Kyra Irlbeck. She was preceded in death by her son, Jim Arkland, brother, Charles Kaskey, mother, Dorothy Kaskey, father, Karl Kaskey, mother in law, Blanche Arkland, father in law, John Arkland.
