Ruth Anne Robbins, age 64, of Carroll passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, October 17, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Carroll with Rev. Dennis Bailey officiating. Organist for the service will be Ellen Severin and the congregation will sing “Amazing Grace” and “The Old Rugged Cross”. Casket bearers will be Dick Robbins, Rodney Robbins, Jerry Bornsen and Ken Pedersen. Burial will be at the Jefferson Cemetery. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll from 5 – 7 P.M. on Sunday evening. The casket will be moved to the First United Methodist Church at 9:30 A.M. on Monday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on July 8, 1952 in Carroll, she was the daughter of Warren and Freda (Shoemaker) Robbins. Ruth grew up on her family’s farm near Scranton and graduated from Scranton High School. Ruth married Richard Brus in 1973 and later divorced. The couple had three children, Robert, Rebecca and Robin. Ruth worked at GE for 10 years, from 1978-1988. She then furthered her education through DMACC for 2 years. In 1990, Ruth started her career with Regional Housing Authority. She recently retired from the company after 25 years of service. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards with her card group, gardening, doing home improvements on her own, crocheting and doting on her dog, Murphy. Ruth survived is by her children Robert (Tandra) Brus of Hanover, MD; Becky Dreessen of Carroll; Robin (Jerry) Bornsen of Omaha, NE, a brother Dick (Cindy) Robbins of Maricopa, AZ; two sisters, Rita Jackson of Denison, and Audrey (Richard) Morlan of Scranton; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ruth was preceded in death by both parents, Warren and Freda; and brothers Fred, Jim and Donald Joe Robbins.
