Russell David “Rusty” Weeks, age 58, of Manilla passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Manning Regional Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Fr. Antony Mathew of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Audubon officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Casket bearers will be Rusty’s grandchildren. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on January 26, 1958 in Carroll, he was the son of Harold and Phyllis (Carlyle) Weeks. He grew up in the Dedham – Carroll area and attended school at Carroll High School. He worked for Promes Drainage and Mel’s Repair for several years before moving to Manilla in 2007. While living in Manilla he worked for Frank Boeck Construction. He was married to Linda Schaefer on July 20, 1985 at Swan Lake near Carroll. Rusty enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with family. Rusty is survived by his wife Linda of Manilla; two daughters: Stacie Schaefer of Council Bluffs and Jamie Stocker and her husband Nathan of Carroll; a son Justin Weeks and his wife Shauna of Glidden; five grandchildren: Aaliyah, Abby, Savanna, Johnathon, and Ethan; his mother Phyllis Weeks of Ankeny; three sisters: Peggy Bauer and her husband Joe of Hamlin, Angie Weeks and Lamont Coon of Des Moines, and Amy Thiel and her husband Tyrone of Ankeny; a brother Terry Weeks and his wife Jodie of Ankeny; three sisters-in-law: Sandy Lawson of Council Bluffs, Kathy Schaefer of Breda, and Pat Peters and her husband Don of Carroll; three brothers-in-law: Mel Schaefer and his wife Debbie of Omaha, Rick Schaefer and his wife Sue of Carroll, and Dan Schaefer and his wife Linda of Carroll; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rusty was preceded in death by his father, two brothers: Mike and Steve Weeks, and a nephew Christopher Weeks; and his mother and father-in-law Mel and Leone Schaefer.
