Rose Cora Hupp

November 15, 1930 — January 27, 2024

Rose Cora Hupp, age 93, of Jefferson, IA, and formerly of Scranton, IA, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Regency Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jefferson.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 1:00 – 1:45 P.M. at the Church of Christ in Scranton, IA with funeral service at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Levi Dawson officiating. Casket bearers will be Cam Hupp, Shane Hupp, Heath Oakes, Brent Oakes, Jeremy Theulen, and Lucas Oakes. Honorary casket bearers will be Jodi Hupp, Casey Willenborg, Megan Theulen, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Burial will follow at the Scranton Township Cemetery near Scranton.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com.

Rose was born November 15, 1930 in Perry, IA, and was the daughter of Wayne and Cora (Bryan) Wright. She attended school in Panora, IA. On July 18, 1953, she was united in marriage to Dan Hupp in Omaha, NE. The couple was blessed with three children: Ron, Rhonda, and Randy. They lived on a farm in rural Scranton, and she was a stay-at-home mom raising their children. They later moved into Scranton, and she was employed at Boomsma Egg Factory in Glidden for several years. She also cleaned the Scranton Bank and the elevator in Scranton for several years. Dan passed away April 28, 1995. Rose loved to cook and bake and always enjoyed tending to her large flower and vegetable garden which she canned the produce she reaped. She also enjoyed raising chickens and listening to country music. Family was most important to her and cherished the time she was able to spend with them.

Rose is survived by her children: Ron (Mary) Hupp of Madrid, IA, Rhonda (Craig) Fiscus of Winner, SD, and Randy Hupp of Coon Rapids, IA; grandchildren: Heath (Latisha) Oakes of Boone, IA, Brent Oakes and significant other Katie Henkel both of Paton, IA, Megan (Jeremy) Theulen of Scranton, IA, Jodi Hupp and significant other Matt Hasenwinkel both of Altoona, IA, Shane Hupp of Des Moines, IA, and Casey (Chris) Willenborg of Grimes, IA; numerous great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Rose is preceded in death by her husband, Dan Hupp; parents; twin brother, Ross (Donna) Wright; and her half-sisters: Alice Badger and Mary Rogers.
