Rose Marie Hall, age 69, of Carroll, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday at the Carroll Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with James Teusch preseiding. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Des Moines. A luncheon will be provided by the Relief Society of the church following the service.
Born on September 24, 1942 at Des Moines, Iowa, she was the daughter of Fredrick L. and Gladys (Oliver) Erickson. She graduated from Perry High School in 1961. Following high school she worked at Marric Company as a secretary / bookkeeper from 1962 – 1964. She then attended and graduated from DMACC in 1968. Rose was then employed by the Yellow Cab Company of Des Moines as a dispatcher and driver from 1974 – 1987. Rose enjoyed reading, working on her computer, unicorns, and anything purple. Two of the most memorable events in her life were the birth of her only daughter and meeting President Barrack Obama, his wife Michelle, and his sister Maya. She was an active member of the Carroll Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Surviving are her daughter Melissa Kay Thompson of Des Moines; two grandchildren: Danielle and James Thompson of Des Moines; a great granddaughter Aubriana; a sister Virginia Diane Ludwick of Carroll; a brother Fredrick James Erickson of Des Moines, and one niece, one nephew, and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
