Ron Mueggenberg, age 62, of Carroll, Iowa, died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 7, 2012, at his home in Carroll. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll with Fr. Timothy Johnson as Celebrant. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday where there will be a Rosary held at 4:00 P.M. and a Christian Wake Service at 7:00 P.M. by Holy Spirit Parish. The casket will be moved to the church at 8:30 A.M. on Wednesday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Lector for the Mass will be Alvin Mueggenberg. Organist will be Barb McDermott and the Holy Spirit Choir will sing “Be Not Afraid”, “On Eagles Wings”, and “Prayer of St. Francis”. Soloist will be John Wagner singing “Amazing Grace”. Gift bearers will be Christina Mueggenberg, Ethen Mueggenberg, and Cooper Mueggenberg. Eucharistic Ministers will be Ruth Thompson, Mary Grossman, and Alvin Mueggenberg. Casket bearers will be Zach Mueggenberg, Ethen Mueggenberg, Christina Mueggenberg, Keith Gehling, Chad Mueggenberg, Justin Warnke, Trevor Warnke, Tony Mueggenberg. Honorary casket bearers will be Dale Mueggenberg, Ken Mueggenberg, Gary Mueggenberg, Rich Mueggenberg, Alvin Mueggenberg, Darrell Mueggenberg, Neil Mueggenberg. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll with military honors by the Carroll American Legion. A son of Gerd and Evelyn (Krogman) Mueggenberg, he was born December 22, 1949 at Carroll. He graduated from St. Bernard High School at Breda in 1967 and grew up on his family's farm southwest of Breda. He was drafted into the United States Army following high school. Ron was married to Cynthia Warnke on June 16 ,1972, at St. Lawrance Catholic Church in Carroll by Fr. James McAlpine. He worked for Moorehouse Redi-Mix and then Farmland Foods for 30 years until their closing. Ron was currently employed by B&D Manufacturing where he has worked for the past ten years. Ron was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, card player and he loved to be outdoors. Ron was known by family and friends as “Mr. Fix It”; if anything needed to be fixed he always thought he could do the job. He was a kind, hard-working and responsible son, brother, husband, father and grandfather always putting others before himself. Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Mueggenberg, of Carroll; four sons: Brad (Heather) Mueggenberg, of Glidden, Brian (Charity) Mueggenberg of Everly, Jason Mueggenberg of Carroll; Nathan Mueggenberg of Grimes; a daughter Jenni (Randy) Christensen of Scranton; eight grandchildren: Zach, Ethen, Cooper, and Carson Mueggenberg of Glidden, Christina and Caitlyn Mueggenberg of Everly, Haven Mueggenberg of Carroll, and Madison Christensen of Scranton; his father Gerd Mueggenberg, of Carroll; five sisters and their husbands; Jane (Bob) Peter of Dedham, JoAnn (Bob) Gehling of Carroll, Ruth (Gordon) Thompson of Port Angeles, Washington, Linda Gehling of Carroll, Mary (Randy) Grossman of Carroll; eight brothers: Dale (Arlene) Mueggenberg of Breda, Kenneth (Louayne) Mueggenberg of Carroll, Gary (Pat) Mueggenberg of Lake View, his twin brother Richard (Marilyn) Mueggenberg of Arcadia, Alvin (Sue) Mueggenberg of Arcadia, Darrell (Renee) Mueggenberg of Arcadia and Neil (Marlene) Mueggenberg of Cedar Rapids; sisters-in-law: Nancy Mueggenberg of Breda, Darlene Warnke of Carroll, Pam Schiltz (Ron) of Carroll, Melody Heim (Richard) of Auburn, Cathy Peterson (John) of Carroll and Michelle Stork of Breda; brothers-in-law: Dennis Warnke (Donna) of Carroll, Dallas Warnke (Brenda) of Scranton, Randy Warnke (Vicki) of Carroll, Victor Warnke (Helen) of Carroll, Gary Warnke (special friend Bev) of Scranton, Kevin Warnke of Ames, Michael Warnke (special friend Angie) of Carroll, Scott Warnke of Scranton, and Kelly Warnke (special friend Sheila) of Carroll; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Ron was preceded in death by his mother: Evelyn Mueggenberg; his brother, Mark Mueggenberg; his grandparents and grandparents-in-law: Gerhard and Anna Mueggenberg, August and Helen Krogman; father-in-law and mother-in-law Vernon and Burnita Warnke; brothers-in-law, Carl Gehling, Bruce Warnke, and Kenny Stork.
