Ronald Lee King, age 58, of Coon Rapids passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, January 30, 2017 with Fr. Timothy Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Raids from 5 – 7 P.M. on Sunday and will resume at 9:30 A.M. on Monday until the time of service. Casket bearers will be Jason King, Ben King, Ryan King, Jordan Knobbe, Brandon Peters, Dean Venteicher, Dave Christensen, and Pat Schon. Honorary casket bearers will be Mike Warnke, Justin Warnke, Jesse Warnke, Chris Heeren, Loras Engelken, Wilts Cretsinger, Brian Wendl, and Desperado Kerstein. Burial will be in the Orange Township Cemetery near Coon Rapids. Known to most as Ronnie, he grew up in Viola Township south of Coon Rapids and graduated from Audubon High School in 1977. He worked for Southside Welding for one year, had dairy operation until 1995, and then farmed grain and livestock with his Dad and Brothers. Ronnie loved socializing and spending time with his family. He was a farmer at heart and loved riding on the four wheeler with the grandkids and driving around looking at the crops. He was a master negotiator and always got a good deal. He was a kind, generous, and giving person. Ronnie is survived by his wife Deb of Coon Rapids; two sons: Nicholas Merlin King of Coon Rapids and Matthew King (Jenni) of Coon Rapids; a daughter Jennie Hiyani (Skyler) of West Des Moines ; four grandchildren: Aden, Landon, Emma, and Caleb Lee; three brothers: Dennis King (Jerrine) of Coon Rapids, Douglas King (Cheryl) of Coon Rapids, and Randall King (Shelly) of Coon Rapids; a sister Janice Knobbe (Kenny) of Auburn; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents Merlin and Dorothy King and twin sisters Judy at age 6 months and Jody at age 28.
