Ronald Dale Heman, age 65, of Ralston, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 2, 2007 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, December 6, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Glidden with Father Joseph Dillinger officiating. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden after 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday where there will be a scriptural prayer service held at 7:00 P.M. by the parish. Burial will be in the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden. Casket bearers will be David Owen, Ben Harper, Duane Owen, Mike Heim, Chad Stevens, and Justin Koski. Honorary casket bearers will be Merle Wiederin, Ron Buchman, Jim Thorn, Dale DeSart, Rod Wolf, Doug Miller, Richard Greteman, and Terry Janning. Born on March 10, 1942 at Dedham, Iowa Ron was the son of Henry John and Eleanor (Sandrock) Heman. He graduated from Carroll High School in 1960 and was married to Barbara Hart on February 23, 1963 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Coon Rapids. Over the years Ron was employed at Glidden Oil, West Central Cooperative, Garst and Thomas/ICI Seeds for 25 years, and Electrolux in Jefferson. After his retirement he worked at Wal-Mart in Carroll. He loved to be with his family and friends and he also enjoyed playing cards and handyman work including working on vehicles and lawn mowers and mowing lawns.
Surviving are his wife Barbara Heman of Ralston; a daughter Karlynn Wiederin and her husband Steve of Ralston; a grandson Chad Wiederin of Ralston; a brother Henry “Pee Wee” Heman and his wife Mary of Carroll; three sisters: Anita Brumbaugh and her husband Joe of Omaha, Nebraska, Bonita Heuton of Carroll, and Lois Testrote and her husband Kenneth of Lake View; brother-in-laws Richard Hart and his wife Joan of Coon Rapids, Ronald Hart and his wife Cheryl of Coon Rapids, David Hart of Coon Rapids, Robert Hart and his wife Pam of Carroll, Danny Hart of Ames, Randy Hart and his wife Anna Mae of Coon Rapids, and Robert Moore of Carroll; and sisters-in-law: Bonita Namanny and her husband Jim of Coon Rapids, and Brenda Eischeid and her husband Travis of Bayard. He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father-in-law Jack and Neva Hart, a sister Mary Miller and her husband Joe, a sister Ardella Moore, a sister Charlotte Heman, and a brother-in-law Wendall Heuton.
