Ronald Allen Bruggeman, age 58, of Guthrie Center and formerly of Glidden, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Panora Specialty Care Center following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden with Debbie Spidle of St. Croix Hospice officiating. Music for the service will be by Tracy Amano of St. Croix Hospice. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will follow at the Merle Hay Memorial Cemtery. Casket bearers will be his nieces Emily Bowman, Elissa Juhnke and his nephews Jeff, Jay, and Jeremy Lauridsen and Jake Bruggeman. Dodge, IA, Ron was the son of Merle and Donna (Meiners) Bruggeman. He grew up in the Lidderdale area and graduated from Carroll High School in 1977. Following high school he earned a degree from DMACC and went to work for Crescent Chevrolet in Des Moines and then moved back to Carroll and worked for Whaley Chevrolet. Ron then worked for Macke Motors in Lake City and Coon Rapids for over 20 years. He most recently served as maintenance supervisor and operations at Lakeside Village in Panora, the Homestead in Guthrie Center and The Gardens in Jefferson. Ron was married to Glenda Earth on March 1, 1997. Ron truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures and helping others. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, racing and restoring old cars. Ron is survived by his wife Glenda of Guthrie Center; his son Michael Bruggeman (Erin) of the Netherlands; his daughter Becky Troja (Jake) of Urbandale; six grandchildren; his mother Donna Bruggeman of Glidden; his brother Larry of Glidden; and several nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father Merle Bruggeman in 2011, and his sister Joyce Lauridsen in 2015.
