Roger Duane Brannan passed into eternal life on September 16, 2017 in Forrestville, California at the age of 81. He was born June 26, 1936 near Loretto, Nebraska to Charles Henry Brannan and Margaret Alice (Kaufman) Brannan. He graduated from Coon Rapids High School, Coon Rapids, Iowa in the spring of 1954. He then served in the U.S. Army for two years, stationed in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Upon discharge, he moved to Detroit, Michigan where he lived for a short time before relocating to the Los Angeles, California area. After several years there, he traveled north to the San Francisco area where he remained the rest of his life. He obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of San Francisco in 1980 while working full-time in the insurance field. He devoted his spare time to the accumulation of a large number of classic cars fulfilling his life-long love of automobiles. Roger was a proud member of Mensa. He enjoyed entertaining his wide circle of friends and associates. Preceding him in death were his parents, step-mother Alice, brother Richard, brother-in-law John Toms, and nephews Michael Brannan and Matthew Reinhart. He is survived by his sisters: Barbara Fisher and husband Connie, Sandra Toms, and brother Robert and wife Carla, sister-in-law DeAnn Bartnick along with nieces and nephews and many extended family members. Private family burial will be held in the Coon Rapids Cemetery.
