Robert Hoyle

Robert “Bob” John Hoyle, age 70, of Glidden, IA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at his home surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at the Glidden United Methodist Church. Casket bearers will be Trevor Hoyle, Wade Hoyle, Matt Jacobson, Zach Vos, Jon Hoyle, Jeremy Thooft, and Danny Matthews. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery in Churdan.

Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden from 5 – 7 P.M. on Friday. The casket will be moved to the Glidden United Methodist Church at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday where visitation will resume until 10:15 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested for a later designation.

Bob was born on November 2, 1955 in Jefferson, IA, and he was the son of Harold and Barbara (Stribling) Hoyle. He grew up in Greene County and graduated from Paton-Churdan High School in 1974. Following high school Bob entered the workforce at the Churdan Elevator and worked several jobs over the years. He was married to Sally Thornton in 1986 and to this union a daughter Abby was born. Bob later married Nicki Gregory Bluml in 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Carroll and he became a Bonus Dad to Quinn and Megan. Bob enjoyed golfing, singing his favorite song Lollipop at Karaoke with sound effects, watching his grandson Leo play sports, and the occasional White Russian.

Bob is survived by his wife Nicki Hoyle; daughter Abby Jacobson (Matt) and their son Leo; his father Harold Hoyle; Nicki’s daughter Megan Bluml (Grant Arndorfer); his mother-in-law MaryAnn Gregory; two sisters: Pam Anderson (Greg) and Janet Matthews (Denny); an identical twin brother Ron Hoyle (Connie); in-laws: Pam Quigley (Steve), Butch Gregory (Barb), Vicki Stork, and Larry Gregory; and many nieces, nephews, cousins; and his very good buddy Zach Vos.

Bob was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Hoyle; a brother Phil Hoyle; Nicki’s son Quinn Gregory; and a nephew Kurt Hoyle.
