Richard Maurice Julich, age 48, of Glidden passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Glidden with Fr. Andrew Hoffmann as Celebrant assisted by Deacon Gary Schon. Music for the Mass will be by the St. Elizabeth Seton Choir with Mary Ross as organist. Lectors for the Mass will be Lindsay Kastle, Leah Leiting, and Kayci Britton. Gift bearers will be his daughter Hannah and Goddaughter Nicole Julich. Casket bearers will be David Struck, Joseph Lawler, Jake Leiting, Michael Lawler, Kevin Simon, Kelly Phillips, and Conrad Toms. Burial will be in the St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Maple River. Friends may call at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Glidden after 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday where there will be a Christian Wake Service held at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will resume at St. Elizabeth Seton Church at 9:30 A.M. on Thursday until the time of Mass. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on June 13, 1968 in Carroll, IA, he was the son of Maurice and Mary Lou (Madigan) Julich. Ricky or Rick as he was affectionately known to most, grew up on his family’s farm near Maple River. He attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Grade School and Carroll High School. Following high school he farmed for his father and then worked for Trausch Enterprise of Carroll. He then worked for Beckstorm Repair for nine years where he was currently employed as a diesel and heavy equipment mechanic. Rick was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Glidden. He was a loving and devoted father, husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed all types of car racing, camping, but most of all, Rick loved spending time with his family and friends. He always had a big hug and an “I Love You” for all his family. Rick is survived by his wife Stacie Julich of Glidden; two daughters: Mallory Berg of Iowa City and Hannah Julich of Glidden; two sons: Gregory Ridgley of Glidden and Luke Julich of Glidden; his parents Maurice and Mary Lou Julich of Maple River; his in-laws Lynn and Mary Phillips of Manning and Jay and Jane Bell of Arion; three sisters: Diane Julich Bealka (Mike) of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Lori Julich Lawler of Spirit Lake, IA, and Kris Julich Leiting of Breda; two brothers Mark Julich of Sioux City and Kevin Julich (Amanda) of Maple River; his sisters and brother in-law: Laura Griesman of Carroll, Christine Pottebaum (Jay) of Carroll, Kelly Phillips (Kayla) of Manning; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rick was preceded in death by grandparents Fred and Frances Julich and Thomas and Marguerite (Wieland) Madigan, a brother Scott in infancy, a sister Mary Beth in infancy, and a nephew Bryan Julich.
