Richard Henry Daniel

Richard Henry Daniel, age 82, of Carroll, IA, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll surrounded by family.

A funeral service will be held at 7 P.M. on Friday, October 31, 2025 the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.

Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home on Friday from 5 – 6:45 P.M. prior to the service.

Richard was born on June 7, 1943 in Carroll, IA, and he was the son of Norbert and Delores (Kennebeck) Daniel. He grew up on a farm one half mile east of Lidderdale and graduated from Kuemper High School. He was married to Jeanie Ertz in May of 1964 and to this union three children were born: Kim, Alan, and Paul. They later divorced and Richard was married to Cheryl Wunschel and they had twin sons Terry and Travis.

Richard was employed by International Harvester in Carroll and Farmland Foods in Denison. He also farmed the family farm near Lidderdale and resided in Carroll. He was a farmer at heart and loved going for rides in his pickup.

Richard is survived by his children and their families: Kim Daniel (Emmanuel Vela) of Carroll, Alan Daniel of (Jody Brooks) of San Diego, CA, Paul Daniel (Chris) of Lidderdale, Travis Daniel of Carroll, and Terry Daniel (Jill Spies) of Lidderdale; a granddaughter Starr Daniel; two great-grandchildren: Tristan and Ruby; two step-granddaughters: Candise Schmitz (Josh) and Kyli Ware (Matthew) and a sister Kathleen Jones of Carroll.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents Norbert and Delores Daniel and his wife Cheryl in 1999.
