Rebecca Ann Franzeen

Rebecca Ann Franzeen, age 91, of Coon Rapids passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Thomas Rest Haven in Coon Rapids.

A private family graveside service will be held at the Willow Township Cemetery near Bayard.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com

Rebecca was born on June 3, 1929 in Des Moines, IA.  She was later adopted by Mabel and Ray Jackson.  On November 28, 1948, Rebecca was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Weldon Curtis Franzeen.  After high school graduation, the couple started farming in the Scranton area.  They moved to the Bayard area in 1956 where they raised their family and farmed for 50 years.  Rebecca was involved in Eastern Star, she accompanied students on the piano for school music contests, and also played the organ at church.  Rebecca was a woman of faith and was actively involved with church activities and home bible study groups.  In her later years, Rebecca’s life was centered around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren attending their sporting events and activities.  Rebecca cherished her time spent with her family.

Those left to honor her memory include: two sons Sidney Franzeen (Cindy) of Bayard  and Craig Franzeen (Nancy) of Guthrie Center; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law: Eleanor MacDonald of Cummings, GA, Karen Fant (Jim) of Heathrow, FL, and June Jackson of Irving, TX, and two nieces Renee Jackson and Chris Bergene both of Irving, TX.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her husband Weldon Curtis Franzeen.
