Rachelle "Shelly" Johansen Gangestad

Rachelle “Shelly” Lorriane Johansen Gangestad, age 45, of Carroll passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, October 11, 2013 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Dawn Dailey Shepherd officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Casket bearers will be John Feige, Craig Kinney, Russell Warnke, Jarred Mueller, Jake Sachau and Bob Schmitz. Born on September 8, 1968 at Hamburg, Iowa, she was the daughter of Gary and Judy Johansen. She grew up in Castana, Iowa, and graduated from Maple Valley High School in 1986. Following high school she worked for Farmland in Denison she then worked for Blues Amusements traveling with the carnival until 1991 when she moved to Glenwood and worked for the Glenwood Bakery. Shelly moved back to Castana and then lived in Denison until 2010 when she moved to Carroll. She worked for MC’s Café, McDonalds, and Kick the Can. She enjoyed playing darts, playing dice, sports, and spending time with her family. Shelly is survived by a daughter Krystle Johansen of Carroll; a son Anthonny Johansen of Carroll; her parents Jerry and Judy Johansen of Castana, Iowa; a granddaughter Kyanna Johansen; three brothers: Dominic Hargis of Omaha, Nebraska, Ray Johansen of Sioux City, and Darrin Moore of Glenwood, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her grandparents George and Lucille Johansen.
