Peggy Montroy

Peggy Montroy, 77, a resident of Glidden, IA and formerly of Monmouth, IL died October 5, 2014, at Thomas Rest Haven, Coon Rapids, IA. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Hoover Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth, IL. Visitation will be held at Hoover Hall Memorial Chapel for one hour prior to the service. Music will be provided by Peggy’s family. Casket bearers will be Casey Montroy, Jayme Montroy, Eric Daily, Dave Logsdon, Ed Logsdon, and Dale Moore. Burial will be in the Monmouth City Cemetery. Peggy Darlene Montroy, daughter of Frank and Lucille (Piper) Logsdon, was born October 7, 1936 at her parents’ home in Monmouth IL. A special moment in Peggy’s life was when she was baptized at age 11. Peggy attended school in Monmouth, IL. She also enjoyed attending church and caring for her younger siblings while living at home. On August 16, 1952 she and James A. Montroy Sr. were united into marriage at Gladstone, IL. Two children, James A. Montroy Jr. and Debra K. (Montroy) Michael, were born into this union. Peggy served at the Foursquare Church in Monmouth, IL and later at the Living Light Tabernacle in Roseville, IL. Her church family was a meaningful part of her days throughout her years. Peggy’s family was her pride and joy. She spent many years caring for her family and friends with the joy of providing a home cooked meal. Peggy took great care and enjoyed gardening and decorating her home. Peggy will be fondly remembered by her children Jimmy and Teresa Montroy; Deb and Rod Michael; her brother Terry and Liz Logsdon; her aunt June Piper; her grandchildren: Debbie Christenberry, Billie Jo Montroy, Stacie and Eric Daily, Casey and Lacrissa Montroy, and Jayme and Chrystal Montroy; her great-grandchildren: Sharayah and Carlton Stephens, Savana Christenberry and Lacy Rouse, Emily Voce, Cameron Montroy, Jeryca Christenberry, Timmy Pence Katelyn Daily, Kimberly Daily, Autumn Campbell, Colton Montroy, Brenden Campbell, Landon Montroy, Patience Montroy, and one expected in April; her great-great grandchildren Bentley Stephens, Mylo Stephens; her sisters-in-law Betty Logsdon, Helga Logsdon, and Vicki Logsdon; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and church family. She is preceded in death by her parents, infant brother Norman Logsdon, brothers Robert Logsdon, Theron Logsdon, and Richard Logsdon.
