Paulette Elaine Snook, age 78, of Glidden, IA, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. on Monday, May 18, 2026 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church – St. John Paul II Parish in Carroll with Fr. Patrick Behm as Celebrant. Lector for the Mass will be Doug Wanninger. Gift bearers will be Grace Tigges, Harper Roberts, and Stella Tigges. Casket bearers will be Bryce Perrien, Conner Tigges, Grant Tigges, Nolan Roberts, Luke Tigges, Mike Brandt, and Jamie Brandt. Burial will be in the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden.
Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 3 P.M. on Sunday where there will be a Christian Wake Service held at 5 P.M. followed by a Rosary. The casket will be moved to St. Lawrence Church at 10 A.M. on Monday where visitation will resume until 10:45 A.M. prior to the Mass.

Paulette was born on August 24, 1947 in Austin, MN, and she was the daughter of Paul and Thelma (Edwards) Schlichter. She grew up in Austin where she graduated from Austin High School in 1965. She then worked at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. Paulette was married and had four children whom she adored: John, Brian, Beth, and Nathan. She raised her family in Coon Rapids where she was a stay at home mom and later became the Activities Director at Thomas Rest Haven Nursing Home. She was later married to Raymond Snook on May 18, 1996. She started Paulette’s Catering in her home and worked alongside with Ray until his death in 2018. They served countless groups and parties in their home as well as catered many events over the years. She was a member of P.E.O., The Birthday Club, and the Monday Coffee Group. She enjoyed reading, socializing with her friends, traveling and dancing with Ray, sports, and most of all being the best grandma ever. Paulette was a devoted mom to her kids and grandkids attending all their events, and she was a huge Caitlyn Clark fan.
Paulette is survived by her children and their families: John Tigges (Stacie) of Waukee, Brian Tigges (Holly) of Carroll, Beth Roberts (Andy) of Des Moines, and Nathan Tigges (Patty) of Adel; thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters: Cheryl Brandt (Wayne), Jeanne Motl, and Dianna Enfield; two brothers: Edward Schlichter and Joe Schlichter; a sister-in-law Sarah Schettler; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Paulette was preceded in death by her husband Ray Snook; her parents; a brother Mark Schlichter; a stepson Jason Bruening; and a grandson Brandon Mundt.
