Pauletta “Pete” Jane Anderson, age 89, of Scranton passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, September 10, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Scranton with Rev. Charlie Thompson officiating. A eulogy will be given by Judy Walker. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. on Thursday. The casket will be moved to the church at 8:30 A.M. on Friday to lie in state until the time of service. Organist for the service will be Martha Wolf soloist will be Craig Rowles. Casket bearers will be Larry Frazier, Rod Walker, Randy Hedges, Ron Juergens, Tom Walker, and Craig McDonald. Honorary casket bearers will be Kenny Hilts and Marty Toms. Born on February 13, 1921 at Linden, Iowa, she was the daughter of Clayton and Bessie (Lair) Brandenburg. She grew up in the Lake City area where she attended school. She was married to Russell Ray Anderson on October 21, 1942 at Omaha, Nebraska. The couple lived and raised their family in the Scranton – Churdan area. In 1974 she moved to Ft. Dodge where she worked at the Marso – Rodenborn glove factory. She retired in 1986 and returned to the Scranton area. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Scranton. In her spare time she enjoyed babysitting, sewing, and spending time with her family.
Surviving are two daughters: Sandy Gibson and her husband Stan of Scranton, and Deb Mohr and her husband Mark of Scranton; two sons: Dave Anderson and his wife June of Jefferson, and Bob Anderson and his wife Deb of Breda; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; a sister-in-law Farice Brandenburg of Perry; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Rick, brothers: Orville, Harry, Carl, John, and Chet, and sisters: Francis, Ella, Thelma, and Alma.
