Patricia Ann Klindt, age 74, of Carroll, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll with Pastor Brian Licht officiating. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 5:00 P.M. where there will be a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. The casket will be moved to the church at 8:30 A.M. on Saturday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Organist for the service will be Janet Hoff and soloist will be Marv Toft. Casket bearers will be Craig Lykke, Roger Anderson, Duane Anderson, Mike Pudenz, Tracy Onken, and Cody Ercikson. Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery.
Born on July 28, 1937 on her family’s farm south east of Elk Horn, Iowa, she was the daughter of Hjalmar and Ida Mae (Morrison) Lykke. She grew up in the Exira – Audubon area. As a girl she attended Oakfield Township #1 country school in Audubon County and graduated from Exira High School in 1955. She was baptized at her parents home on September 12, 1938 by Pastor Anders Hansen of Elk Horn Lutheran Church and she was confirmed in the Lutheran faith on April 22, 1951 by Pastor Stanley Larsen at the Exira Lutheran Church. She was married to Gilbert Dean Klindt on October 21, 1955 at the Exira Lutheran Church. Following their marriage the couple lived in Avoca for eight years before moving to Atlantic where she worked at the hospital in food service. They moved to Carroll in 1964 where Pat worked at the hospital and New Hope Village and her husband was the manager at Earl May’s. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. In her spare time she enjoyed flowers, reading, watching her daily soap opera, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters: Cynthia Klindt of Carroll and Shirley Pudenz and her husband Neil of Breda; four grandchildren: Jason Watson of Archer, Iowa, Nathan Pudenz and his wife Heidi of Lidderdale, Iowa, Jenna Watson of Carroll, and Tyler Pudenz and his wife Lindsy of Carroll; five great grandchildren: Cameron, Cassandra, Cristian, McKenzie, and Evan; a brother Lloyd Summers and his wife Norma of Atlantic; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers: Harold and Gordon Lykke, and a sister Lydia Andersen.
