Orrin Lynn Lappe, age 66, of Carroll and formerly of Dedham passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015 at the Fonda Nursing Home in Fonda. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Fr. Timothy Johnson of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 A.M. on Thursday until the time of service. Casket bearers will be Orrin’s nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com. Born on December 20, 1948 in Carroll, he was the son of Arthur and Barbara (Heater) Lappe. He grew up on his family’s farm near Dedham and attended Carroll High School. He helped his Dad on the farm and moved to Carroll in his mid 30s. Orrin then lived in Templeton for a few years before moving to the Fonda Nursing Home in 2011. He loved old cars, driving old tractors, going for walks, and spending time with his family. Orrin is survived by three sisters: Diane Lappe of Cedar Rapids, Debbie McMichael and her husband Merle of Audubon, and Sheila Lappe of Templeton; a brother Fred Lappe and his wife Ruth of Auburn, and several nieces and nephews. Orrin was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew Chris Lappe.
