Oliver Dean Mcknight

Oliver Dean McKnight, age 76, of Scranton passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Regency Park in Jefferson. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, October 20, 2012 the Scranton Church of Christ Pastor Bob McKnight officiating. Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse in Scranton from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Friday. The casket will be moved to the church at 8:30 A.M. on Saturday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Organist for the service will be Laura McKnight. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at the McCoy Cemetery in Meadow Grove, Nebraska. Born on January 2, 1936 at Meadow Grove, Nebraska, he was the son of Oliver Earl and Della Ruth (Swarm) McKnight. He grew up in Meadow Grove and moved to Scranton in 1991 to live with his brother Bob McKnight and his wife Laura. Dean enjoyed watching westerns, mowing lawn, scooping snow, collecting pictures of horses, visiting with people and attending church activities. Dean is survived by his brother Pastor Bob McKnight and his wife Laura of Scranton; two nephews: Billy McKnight and his wife Carrie of Menomonie, Wisconsin and Robert O. McKnight of Denver, Colorado; and one niece Rebecca Plager of Cambridge, Iowa; and many good friends.
