Norman Joseph Beyerink, age 77, of Lidderdale, Iowa, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2011 at the Carroll Health Center in Carroll, Iowa. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lidderdale with Fr. Timothy Schott as Celebrant. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 3:30 P.M. on Wednesday where there will be a Rosary at 4:00 P.M. and a Christian Wake Service at 6:30 P.M. by the Parish. Lector for the Mass will be Mary Siepker and Gift Bearers will be Henry Beyerink and Elsie Willenborg. Music will be by the Holy Family Chior. Casket bearers will be Bill Tyrrell, Larry Brown, Craig Beyerink, David Beyerink, Clarence Siepker, and Neil Kanne. Burial will be in the Holy Family Cemetery near Lidderdale with Military Honors by the Carroll American Legion. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll. Online condolences may be left at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on August 24, 1933 at Carroll, Iowa, he was the son of Henry and Elizabeth (Wuebker) Beyerink. Norman attended school in Lidderdale and served in the United States Army from March of 1953 until March of 1955. Following the military he returned home to farm northwest of Lidderdlae. He lived on the home farm until 2008 when he moved to the Carroll Health Center. Norman was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Lidderdale and he was a 47 year member of the Carroll American Legion. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting with his friends and relatives from Michigan, fishing, gardening, playing cards, and Bingo. Surviving are two sisters: Irene Tyrrell and her husband James of Pontiac, Michigan, and Mardel Underberg and her husband Alvin of Rocky Mount, Missouri; a brother Henry of Carroll; two sisters-in-law: Dolores Beyerink of Carroll, and Mary Lou Beyerink of Glidden; and several nieces and nephews. Norman was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters: Juliana Siepker and her husband Clarence, Leona Brown and her husband Clarence, Dorothy Nelson and her husband Martin, and Darlene Beyerink, and three brothers: Marvin, Julius, and Laverne Beyerink.
