     Norma Jean DeMey, age 82, of Carroll passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.      Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll.  Casket bearers will be Corey Brincks, Matthew DeMey, Jason DeMey, Dylan DeMey, Christopher Loehr, Ryan DeMey, Robert DeMey, Kyle DeMey, Amanda Rezac, and Jennifer Loehr.  Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery.       Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday.  Visitation will resume at the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. on Wednesday and continue until the time of service.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com      Born on May 25, 1935 in Anthon, IA, she was the daughter of Hans and Alma (Koster) Lamaak.  Jean, as she was known to most, grew up in the Denison area and attended Denison schools.  Following high school, she worked as a waitress at Cronks.  She was married to Edward DeMey on October 24, 1953 in Elk Point, SD. The couple lived in several locations while Ed worked with Crouse Cartage opening terminals in Harlan, Ft. Dodge, Ottumwa, and Atlantic. They moved to Carroll in 1962 where they raised their five children. Jean enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, playing games, going for rides around Swan Lake, and spending time with her family.      Jean is survived by three daughters: Karen Loehr (Michael) of Carroll, Brenda Brincks of Glidden, and Carmen DeMey of Carroll; two sons: Steven DeMey (Lani Maples) of Omaha and Mark DeMey (Jane) of Carroll; ten grandchildren: Matthew DeMey (Jodi) of Ankeny, Ryan DeMey (Crystal) of Chicago, Jason DeMey of Omaha, Robert DeMey of Omaha, and Kyle DeMey (Grace) of Omaha, Christopher Loehr of Springfield, MO, Jennifer Loehr of Carroll, Amanda Rezac (Jim) of Glidden, Corey Brincks (Cassidy) of Glidden, and Dylan DeMey of Carroll; eleven great-grandchildren: Avery, Brinley, Kaitlyn, Emma, Aaliyah, Kaylee, Noah, Ella, Kinsley, Aiden, and Hazel; a sister Mary Ann Murr (Jerry) of Corning, MO; a brother Lloyd Lamaak of Pueblo, CO; a brother-in-law Jack DeMey (Janice) of Denison; the following in-laws: Peggy Lamaak of Sioux City, Ann Lamaak of Sioux City, Gwen DeMey of Dow City, Patricia DeMey of Denison, Marilyn DeMey of Missouri, Ellen Brink of Dow City, and Sharon Cue of Dunlap; several nieces, nephews, cousins and countless good friends.      Jean was preceded in death her parents Hans and Alma Lamaak; her mother and father-law Henry and Adela DeMey; a sister Janice Malone; three brothers: Kenneth, Phillip, and Norman Lamaak; a son-in-law Tom Brincks; and her husband Edward DeMey on October 12, 2014.
