Norbert Hagemann

March 4, 1927 — April 20, 2018

       Norbert B. Hagemann, age 91, of Lidderdale, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Regency Park Nursing Home in Carroll.      Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lidderdale with Fr. Timothy Schott as Celebrant.  Music for the service will be by the Holy Family Choir with Deanna Daniel as pianist.  Lector for the Mass will be Lorraine Hoffmann.   Gift bearers will be Jennifer Ferden and Samantha Ferden.  Eucharistic ministers will be Lois Smith and Joe Daniel.  Mass Server will be Bethany Schleisman.  Casket bearers will be Cody Hull, Kyle Hull, Blake Ferden, Conner Ferden, Kevin Schumacher, and Brian Schumacher.  Burial will be in the Holy Family Cemetery in Lidderdale.      Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll beginning at 5:00 P.M. on Monday, April 23, 2018 where there will be a Christian Wake Service held at 6:30 P.M.  Additional visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll from 9-10:00 A.M. on Tuesday.   Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com.      Born on March 4, 1927 in Howells, NE, Norbert was the son of Conrad and Anna (Win) Hagemann.  The family moved to Iowa in 1938.  Norbert graduated from Auburn High School in 1954.  After high school, he farmed and at one time he owned the grocery store in Lidderdale.  He was married to Dolores Schumacher on June 8, 1954 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church by Father Gerald Zinser.  Norbert worked for the City of Lidderdale and retired after 25 years with the Maintenance Department.  He was very involved Carroll County Democratic Party.  Norbert served on the Lidderdale Fire Department for many years, several as Chief   .  He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Lidderdale and the Carroll County Democrats.       Norbert is survived by his six grandchildren: Jennifer Ferden of Des Moines, Cody Hull of Carroll, Kyle Hull of Lake City, Conner Ferden of Des Moines, Blake Ferden of Des Moines, and Samantha Ferden of Des Moines; sons-in-law: Ken Ferden of Des Moines and Maynard Hull (Kathy) of Lake City; his grand step-children: Brad O’Dell of Cedar Rapids and Paula O’Dell of Cedar Rapids; friend of the family Tami Higgins of Bell Plaine;  and many extended relatives.      He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Dolores; his children: Doug Hagemann, Pam Hagemann, and Sue Ferden; and his sister, Thelma Hagemann.
